Thank you for sharing. I teach Antigone with the connection to The Long Walk Home which I love. But I like your deliberate encouragement of independence, and this is a great piece of literature to use. I am going to try implementing this plan this year. Thanks for sharing your study guides too.
Do you perchance have the study guides for scenes 3-5?
I have my students create one each year by divvying up the sections among groups. This forces them to truly understand the play and serves as a final project for the students.
I have not created any other guides thus far.
