The Kids Arrive Tomorrow

I’m ready for my classes after a couple of hours hiding in my room getting work done. I think I’m basically ready for the first two weeks of school, but we’ll see how quickly (or slowly) we move in the classes.
I think I’ll go up to the school today to make sure everyone has what he/she needs and then go read my book somewhere. Time to relax a bit. Maybe I’ll go see a movie while my wife prepares for her classes.
Regardless, no stress will be endured today.

Good luck, Doc. I can never sleep before the first day. I don’t sleep well on Sunday night either. I keep doing my plans in my head.

I do that on occasion, too. I keep a book on the nightstand just for those long nights.

I’m not sure if the grade-level of your students, but if they’re young children you may want to check out some of the illustrated eText from the Adam Smith Academy. “The Brownies at School” by Palmer Cox is now up at:

I’ve always found them fun and motivational to read to students on the first day of class.
